The modern-era has brought about a new definition for the term “Easter Egg”. Today, it can refer to hidden features, placed secretly within a technology’s software or hardware. While most major tech developers now include some form of Easter egg in their products, Microsoft’s recent focus on Windows 10 has resulted in a regular stream of updates and new Easter eggs. The White House Easter Egg Roll officially dates back to 1878 and the presidency of Rutherford B. Hayes, but first-hand accounts suggest that informal festivities began with egg-rolling parties.
The series premiere—which aired on September 19, 2010—also had a lengthier runtime of 73 minutes. By now, you should have found quite a few of the Easter eggs Microsoft has hidden in its microsite created for the fictional company, Allure Bay Corp. The site is designed to teach visitors about the latest incarnations of Microsoft Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010. Some of the Easter eggs hidden in the site are a little easy to uncover, like the one embedded in the subtitle of one of the videos, but others require a little more ingenuity. Still need a few hints? Have you tried typing “Todd” into the search box yet? Or if you’re curious about the features these Microsoft programs offer, try searching for “Information Capture.”
Every Easter egg gets you a little closer to understanding the full scope of what you can do with Microsoft’s programs, and to taking the top position on the leaderboard. You’re competing with every other registered user, so get creative, watch for clues and don’t hesitate to click items you see in the videos. That green mask on the desk in one video just might uncover something interesting.

An Easter Egg is a little surprise hidden in a software program, a gift from the programmers to you. Discovering an Easter Egg is always fun. We've adapted these from ones DDM found on The Easter Egg Archive. Please visit them, and support their advertisers.
Access 97 or 2000
Open Access 2000.
Create a new database, or open an existing one.
Create a new Macro.
Without entering any commands, save the macro as “Magic Eight Ball” (no quotes, not case sensitive).
Close the macro.
Drag the macro you just created up to the toolbar. It will create an Icon that looks like a magic eight ball.
Ask yourself a question and click on it!
Access 97
Open Access 97.
Either create a new database or open an existing one.
Create a table
Save it as 'Go Speed Racer Go' (no quotes, not case sensitive).
Select About Microsoft Access from the Help menu.
Right Double Click the Access logo.

Excel 2000
Open Excel 2000.
Select Save as Web Page from the File menu.
Select Save Selection:Sheet and Add Interactivity.
Save the .htm file.
Load the .htm page with IE. You should have Excel in the middle of the page.
Scroll to row 2000, column WC. Select row 2000, and tab so WC is the active column.
Press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT and click the Office logo in the upper-left.
If you have DirectX, you will be taken to an arcade-style racing game. Use the arrow keys to drive, space to fire, O to drop oil slicks, and, when it gets dark, H for headlights. Go ahead, indulge that road rage!
Excel 97
Open Excel 97.
On a new Worksheet, Press F5.
Type “X97:L97” (no quotes, not case sensitive) and press Enter.
Press the Tab key.
Hold Ctrl+Shift and click the Chart Wizard button on the Standard toolbar.
You are flying above a dark, mysterious world. Use the mouse to fly around. Click the left button to go forward, or the right to go backward. Watch for the scrolling marquee on the side of a hill.
FrontPage 97, 98, or 2000
Open FrontPage (in FrontPage 98 or 97, open FrontPage Explorer).
Press and hold Shift.
Select About Microsoft FrontPage from the Help menu 3 times. Click OK the first 2 times.

Outlook 2000
Open Outlook 2000.
Type 'Ren Hoek' (no quotes) in the Find a Contact box on the toolbar and press Enter. Outlook will say that it cannot find the requested contact.
Select Macro from the Tools menu, then Macros from the submenu.
In the Macro Name: box, type 'OL2KRocks' (no quotes).
Click Create.
The About Microsoft Outlook dialog box appears.
3utools fails at sending nordata. Press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT and click OK.
Microsoft Office 2010 Easter Egg Game
The Outlook 2000 team credits appear, along with a game. Use the Up and Down arrow keys to catch the names in the mailbox.
